It has been nearly 8 months since I decided to learn a programming language and get away from the design field, So during my search for an easy to use and easy to learn language I found Ruby. I’ve heard about it a a lot in the past few years, and maybe you’ve heard about it as well. So I asked myself what is that buzz all about? till i decided to start learning a programming language and here we go I found Ruby on Rails…
When I started learning Ruby I faced some problems, like where do i get up to date tutorials, how do I install ruby on windows? which is the best HTTP server to use it with Ruby? do I really have to be a programmer or understand anything about programming before I learn it? I panicked at the beginning from the fact that I hate code and programming so why would I do that after my 10 years of working with computers.
The start was very easy actually, a couple of my friends helped me by providing me access to their paid tutorial accounts in a major video tutorials website. So i watched the first video about Ruby and I said to myself, yes that’s it.. That’s the language I wanted to learn…
So I’ve decided to share my knowledge with all of you, and provide some articles about Ruby on Rails… I’ll work with you assuming that you have no knowledge about any programming language, I’ll start from the beginning on how to install and create ruby development environment on your computer, till you deploy your first rails application… It will take me a several posts but I’ll try my best to “at least” write 3 lessons per week.
Hope you are excited the way I’m about Ruby on Rails, If so kindly sign up for Ruby on Rails mailing list and you will get tutorials delivered to your inbox on weekly basis.
